Keith Cohick, CPP, CSPM, of Concord, NC recently was awarded the designation of Certified Security Project Manager (CSPM) by the Security Industry Association (SIA) based in Alexandria, VA.
The Certified Security Project Manager (CSPM) Program provides a nationally recognized professional accreditation for Project Managers involved in the design and installation of security systems. The goal of this program is to offer certification to individuals who have demonstrated their proficiency in every aspect of project management as it relates to security systems.
While CSPM follows the general structure and principles of a typical project management certification program, this credential uniquely addresses the needs of its target audience – the Security Project Manager. It requires prospective candidates to demonstrate their knowledge and skills in implementing the concepts and tools of professional project management. The Security Industry Association (SIA) developed the program to fulfill the practical day-to-day needs of Security Project Managers and to fill the void that other professional project management certification programs may leave.
This certification program is designed specifically to meet the “Practical” aspect of designing and managing security projects. It requires prospective candidates to demonstrate their ability and skills in implementing the concepts and tools of professional Project Management. This is an intensive program, consisting of several steps, examinations, and demonstration of practical experience.
Mr. Cohick is employed with Security Management Consulting in Charlotte, NC where he is Project Manager/Senior Security Consultant.
He has over twelve years of security management experience, is a member of American Society for Industrial Security (ASIS) Chapter 65 in Charlotte and a veteran of the United States Navy.
